The Health Care Authority's goals are to control health care costs, improve the quality and efficiency of the health care system, encourage collaboration and develop a system of health care delivery which makes health services available to all residents of the State.
The HCA plays an active role in identifying and proposing needed changes in the system and reallocation of resources to achieve a health care system that is cost effective, while balancing considerations for affordability, accessibility and quality. The HCA is devoted to ensuring a quality health care system through State Health Plan and health system quality improvement project development.
The Policy and Planning section of the HCA website provides information about the State Health Plan, Legislative reporting, and quality improvement projects.
